The selling of mince pies has been a huge fundraiser over the years for the club. In 2015, 566 dozen were sold raising a gross $8,520. Each year the club donates $3 per dozen from sales by our club and other Rotary Clubs to a nominated charity and in the past these have included Motor Neurone, Wheelchairs for Kids, Lindsay Cozens Aboriginal Education Trust and Australian Rotary Health. The club offers local organisations $3 per dozen for any orders they submit to go back to their fundraising account.
The mince pies have a very good reputation and when we set up a stall at the Whitehorse Farmer’s Market in November and December they practically sell themselves.
Breadstreet Bakery in Hamilton Street Mont Albert bake the pies and a big thank-you must go to David Winter who is the owner and is also a member of our club for his generous support of this project.
